A few months ago, life was good. You finally had your processes in line, and your well-oiled machine was making you some serious green. The experts were predicting another year of record sales. And then it happened…coronavirus…and the whole world seemed to implode over the course of a couple weeks. Now things are finally starting to get back to normal.

And we can help! We’ve come up with the best ways to sustain and even grow your business even in these uncertain times. These are practices we use in our own business to keep the wheels greased and the engines pumping. And if it works for us, it can work for you. To make things easier, we’ve broken the list into two segments. That way you can focus on a few of these key aspects at a time. Be sure to check back for the Top 5 strategies.

9. Embrace Change

There’s a lot of change going on in the world right now. Unfortunately, a lot of people are uncomfortable with change. They resort to behavior that hurts them more than it helps them–hoarding, cutting back, living in fear of what the next day will bring. But, as George Bernard Shaw said, “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” We believe that in order to find success, you must embrace the fear and embrace the changes that we are currently experiencing.

8. Keep Doing What Works

Embracing change is an important part of continued success, but that doesn’t mean you should change what made you successful in the first place. We must adapt. But why fix what isn’t broken? If switching from red to green candy bars increased sales by 75%, why would you switch back to red? Our guess is that some people get bored or just plain forget, but you can’t let that happen! You have to recognize and re-implement ideas that work. You’ll get bored with them long before they actually lose their effectiveness.

7. Go Back To The Basics

Sometimes people get so good at something that they start to ignore the fundamentals. We even struggle with this from time-to-time. As time goes on, we have to go back and study the building blocks every once in a while, especially in times where it feels like we’ve hit a major backslide and are starting from scratch. What worked in the beginning is what will work for you now.

6. Don’t Lose The Fire

We all need a little motivation from time to time. It’s easy to get caught up in all the negativity in the media and feel like giving up. But it’s your drive to succeed that got you where you were before this thing hit, and it’s what will get you back to the top afterward.

The next post in this series will examine the Top 5 Ways You Can Sustain Success In Uncertain Times.
