Here are the results of the Weekend Traffic Poll for December 16-18.

There was a major downward shift in traffic last weekend as 66% of respondents to the Weekend Traffic Poll reported slow traffic. That means that 15% more dealerships experienced slower traffic last weekend than the weekend of 12/9. Overall, December’s traffic is trending down 11 points from November’s average. This outlook is glum as we wrap up the few remaining weeks of 2016. Here are the results of the Weekend Traffic Poll for December 9-11.

After a drastic dip in traffic the two weeks after Thanksgiving, where slow traffic reports skyrocketed from 37% on November 18 to 57% on December 2, traffic is trending positive this week with 49% of respondents reporting good traffic. While the majority of dealers are still reporting slow traffic, this is an increase in positive traffic reports by 6 points. If this trend continues, many dealers could expect to end the year on a high note. Here are the results of the Weekend Traffic Poll for December 2-4.

The results are in and respondents are reporting that traffic was down drastically the weekend beginning on Friday, December 2. In fact, 57% of respondents reported that traffic was slow. That’s down 7 points since last week.   With a slow start to the month, December is currently trending down a whopping 9 points over the average traffic report for the month of November. Here are the results of the Weekend Traffic Poll for November 25-27.

Respondents reported that traffic was 50/50 last weekend, with only 50% reporting that traffic was good. That’s down from 63% last week. And seems to suggest that many dealerships were disappointed, as they were hoping to see big draws from Black Friday and the first shopping weekend of the holidays. This is surprising since the Consumer Confidence Index soared to 107.1 this month. That’s up from 98.6 in October and well above the projected 101.2. Here are the results of the Weekend Traffic Poll for November 18-20.

This week, 63% of respondents reported that traffic was good last weekend, with only 37% reporting slow traffic—a positive marker considering that November is typically a slower month for dealerships. In fact, this continues the steady rise in positive traffic reports we’ve seen over the course of the past five weeks. The only exception being a small dip of 3 points the week of the election.
